- Company History
Ariel Dynamics, Inc. was founded in 1968 with the
mission to produce computer based, biomechanics analysis tools in preparation
for the Mexico City Olympic games. Ariel Dynamics has since expanded its
research system from sports to a wide variety of applications including gait
analysis, workplace design, product testing, prosthetic/orthotic fitting,
neurological studies and more.
Dr. Gideon Ariel, Founder and Chief Executive of the Board of Ariel
Dynamics, Inc., is a world-renowned authority in biomechanics (the science
linking physics to movement of the human body) with special expertise in
computer science. He is a former Olympic athlete, and completed his graduate and
post-doctoral work at the University of Massachusetts, where he received a Ph.D.
in Exercise and Computer Science. He has published numerous scientific papers,
has been featured on national TV and in many magazines, holds several patents,
(including one on variable resistance which is the basis of most modern exercise
equipment), served as consultant to many of the country's leading companies,
founded an independent laboratory devoted to biomechanical research relating to
human performance, and was chairman of the U.S. Olympic Biomechanical Committee.
Ariel Dynamics, Inc. is the manufacturer of unique Human Performance
Analysis Systems and Computerized Exercise Systems. These systems are the result
of 25 years of research and development by Dr. Gideon Ariel and his team of
computer and biomechanical engineering specialists. These developments are
covered by various Patents and Copyrights. It is the first company in the world
to manufacture and develop a Movement Analysis System and Computerized
Exercise Equipment.
For each of these applications, the Ariel Performance Analysis System
(APAS) quantifies motion so that performance can be corrected or compared to
mathematical models. As speed, memory, and peripherals of computers have
expanded, and as the resolution of video cameras has increased, so has the
functionality of the APAS system.
In the remaining years before the start of the new decade that marks the
changing of the millennium, enhancements to the Ariel advanced software/hardware
technologies will be introduced, as well as new Internet-based applications.
These Internet-based resources and solutions are based on the technologies and
the databases that are generated through the use of Ariel technologies in sports
performance, sports medicine, clinical rehabilitation, and related applications.
The Company expects a tremendous response to these new products and information
services.
Ariel Dynamics, Inc. is dedicated to providing researchers, clinicians,
and businesses with accessible and relevant motion data at substantially lower
costs than any competitor. |
