Dear John Thankyou for your prompt replies and the instructions for the use of the closeup6 software. Unfortunately the University operates through a PBAX phone system where modem connections are not available. After discussion with staff within the department it has been decided to remove the hard drive from the AST computer and return the hard drive to Ariel Dynamics for servicing. If there are any problems with this arrangement could you please e-mail me ASAP. Regards Don Gordon Electronic/Computer Technician Human Movement Department University of Western Australia Dear Don;

You will have to establish modem connection to our office and then we will fix it. Don't do anything until we try to fix it through the modem

Hope to hear from you

Dear Sir/Madam Currently we are running the Ariel APAS-CES software on a AST Bravo 486/25 BIOS Rel 1.10 with 4 MByte of RAM. The system has been performing smoothly for numerous years until now. The system boots to the DOS menu where the APAS-CES software is selected. The software continues to load until the sysmenu.exe needs to be executed. At this stage the system sounds a short beep and hangs with a blank screen. If you use Ctrl+Break, the menu appears. The sysmenu.exe file is 167,138 bytes in size and is dated 3-26-96. If any of the software is selected using the APAS pull down menu, the number 14000 briefly flashes on the screen followed by the system hanging. A reboot is required at this stage. Can you give us any possible solution to the above. Yours Sincerely Don Gordon Electronic/Computer Technician Human Movement Department University of Western Australia
