Wireless APAS on hand-held computersImagine a Golfer standing on the green and swing his golf club. A video camera is taking video of this swing. The video is capture directly to the hard disk in real time. Then a compressed sequence is transmitted automatically through a wireless modem to the local server. From the local server the sequence is digitized by any location in the world through the Internet. The velocity of the golf club is determined in few minutes and the results are transmitted back to the server. The server automatically calls the cellular web phone which the golfer carries. He picks up the phone, clicks the web button, and the velocity of the club head as well as other kinematic parameters are shown on the small color screen on his phone. The golfer wants to retrieve a particular video frame where impact occurred. He selects the frame number and the video frame is transmitted from the server superimposed on the stick figure.
