Many experiments require you to build or make things. Cut materials on a cutting mat to avoid damage to the table top. When you glue parts together, always give the glue time to set. Smooth rough edges with sandpaper. Foamcore is a useful material available in art supply shops. It is light and strong, easy to cut and glue, and does not splinter.
